181. French Onion Soup!
Cheesy Texas toast, and delightfully seasoned carmelized onions in a flavorful French broth.
Ingredients
- Garlic Texas Toast
- Provolone Cheese Slices
- Lots of Sliced White Onions
- Pompeian Robust Extra Virgin Olive Oil
- Butter
- Morton Iodized Table Salt
- McCormick Ground Black Pepper
- White Wine
- Organic Raw Apple Cider Vinegar
- All Purpose Flour
- Kitchen Basics Beef Stock
- McCormick Parsley Flakes
- Hilltop Rosemary Seasoning
- McCormick Thyme Seasoning
Directions
- Heat a pot on medium high heat and add lots of butter and oil. Toss in your sliced onions, season with salt and pepper and saute for about 20 minutes until brown and carmelized.
- Deglaze the pot with white wine and vinegar, mix well for about 6 minutes, add a little flour, mix for a minute.
- Pour in a good amount of beef stock, add some rosemary and thyme seasoning. Mix well, turn your heat down to simmer, simmer for about 20 minutes.
- Preheat your oven to 400 degrees. toast your garlic Texas toast in the oven. Pour your French onion soup into a bowl, top with your Texas toast, top with slices of provolone cheese, place in the oven for a few minutes until your cheese melts, garnish with parsley flakes, serve and enjoy!
