Spicy Tempura Fried Shrimp

Sauted and seasoned shrimp deep fried with a spicy tempura batter.

  1. Heat a pan on medium high heat and add some oil and butter. Season your shrimp with old bay seasoning. Stick a skewer down the center of the shrimp to kind of straighten them out.
  2. Cook your shrimp on both sides for about 3 minutes and fully cooked. Take your shrimp out and place on paper towels. Lightly coat your shrimp with flour (this helps your tempura batter stick). Mix your tempura mix according to package instructions. Mix in lots of sriracha sauce.
  3. Heat a pot on medium high heat and add oil up the pot about a inch and a half. Dredge your shrimp in your tempura batter then deep fry for about 4 minutes and golden brown. Take out and set on paper towels to soak up the excess oil. Enjoy! #recipesbyvance
