Sausage & Lamb Lasagna



Spicy Italian sausage and rich ground lamb three cheese lasagna with a sweet tomato sauce.


Ingredients

  • Spicy Italian Sausage
  • Ground Lamb
  • Lasagna Noodles
  • Diced White Onion
  • Garlic Powder
  • Mozzarella Cheese
  • Parmesan Cheese
  • Ricotta Cheese
  • Canned Tomatoes
  • Tomato Paste
  • Sugar
  • Italian Seasoning
  • Oregano Seasoning
  • Thyme Seasoning
  • Salt & Pepper
  • One Beaten Egg
  • Olive Oil
Directions

  1. Cook your lasagna noodles according to package instructions. Remove the casing from your sausage and break up in a large bowl along with your ground lamb. Mix in your diced white onion, season with salt, pepper, and garlic powder.
  2. Heat a large pot on medium high heat and add some oil. Saute your ground lamb and sausage mixture for about 7 minutes while stirring. 
  3. Add in your canned tomatoes, tomato paste, some sugar, salt, pepper, italian seasoning, oregano seasoning, and thyme seasoning. Turn the heat down, mix well and cook for an additional 5 minutes.
  4. Beat one egg into a bowl. Mix in your ricotta cheese, season with salt and pepper and mix well. Preheat your oven to 375 degrees. 
  5. In a large baking dish spread a even layer of your tomato meat sauce. Top your meat sauce with your lasagna noodles. Spread a even layer of your egg and ricotta mix over your noodles then sprinkle a even layer of your parmesan cheese and mozzarella cheese. Spread another even layer of your meat sauce over your ricotta cheese mixture. Top your meat sauce with another layer of your noodles. 
  6. From here repeat these steps 3 times starting with your ricotta cheese mixture and ending with your layer of the three cheeses, sprinkle a little oregano seasoning on top then bake in the oven for about 50 minutes. Enjoy!
