Cheesy Onion Crunch Mac & Cheese

Cheesy sweet red onion and earthy spring onion mac & cheese.


  • Elbow Macaroni
  • Butter
  • Flour 
  • Milk
  • American Cheese
  • Cheddar Cheese
  • Salt & Pepper
  • Diced Red Onion
  • Diced Spring Onion


  1. Cook your macaroni noodles according to package instructions. Drain and set aside.
  2. Heat a pan on medium high heat and add lots of butter.
  3. As your butter starts to melt add some flour to make a roux. Mix vigorously for about 2 minutes.
  4. Add some milk and continue to mix vigorously until there are no lumps and it reaches a nice consistency, adding more butter if needed. Saute and mix for about 3 minutes.
  5. Add your american cheese, cheddar cheese, diced red onion, and diced spring onion. Season with salt and pepper and continue mixing for about 5 minutes or until your cheese sauce reaches a nice consistency.
  6. Add in your cooked macaroni noodles and mix well on low heat for about 2 minutes. Plate, garnish with some more red and green onions (if you like) and enjoy!
