251. Greek Potato & Beef Moussaka!
A cheesy and saucy traditional greek moussaka with sauted potatoes and ground beef.
Ingredients
- Rinsed Thinly Sliced Potatoes
- Ground Beef
- Sliced White Onions
- Bechamel Sauce
- Morton Iodized Table Salt
- McCormick Ground Black Pepper
- McCormick Thyme Seasoning
- McCormick Mediterranean Oregano Seasoning
- Marjoram Seasoning
- Cento Tomato Sauce
- Cento Tomato Paste
- Red Wine
- Kraft Grated Parmesan Cheese
- Pompeian Robust Extra Virgin Olive Oil
- Butter
Directions
- Heat a pan on medium high heat and add some oil and butter. Season your sliced potatoes and sliced white onions with salt and pepper. Take out and set aside on paper towels.
- Heat a deep pan on medium high heat and add some oil. Toss in your ground beef and start to cook while breaking up. Season with salt, pepper, thyme, oregano, and marjoram. Cook while mixing for about 4 minutes.
- Add some tomato paste, mix well and continue to cook for about 2 minutes. Add some tomato sauce, and red wine, mix well and cook for about 1 minute.
- Turn your heat down to simmer, cover with a lid, and simmer for about 15 minutes occasionally mixing. Preheat your oven to 350 degrees.
- Drain your ground beef mixture and place in a bowl. Mix some of your bechamel sauce in with your ground beef.
- Drizzle a baking dish with oil and place in the oven to get hot. Line the bottom of your baking dish with your halfway cooked sliced potatoes and onions. Top with a layer of your ground beef mixture, then another layer of your potatoes and onions, then a layer of just your bechamel sauce. Finally top it off with a good amount of parmesan cheese, bake in the oven for 50 minutes, take out and serve. Enjoy! #recipesbyvance
