17A. Montreal Ahi Tuna!

 


Delicious tuna steak beautifully seasoned, super tender, amazingly succulent with a homemade Asian Gyoza sauce.

  • Sesame Oil
  • Butter
  • Montreal Steak Seasoning
  • Peppercorns
  • Ahi Tuna Steak
  • Soy Sauce
  • Rice Wine Vinegar
  • Brown Sugar
  • Paprika
Directions
  1. Heat a extra large pan on medium high heat and add some sesame oil and butter. Saute lots of peppercorns for 5-7 minutes or until they become soft. Liberally season your tuna steak with Montreal steak seasoning.
  2. When your peppercorns have softened spread them around the pan evenly then gently set your tuna steak on top of them, press down hard and sear for about 3 minutes to get a nice char on that side.
  3. Pick your tuna steak up with tongs, give your pan a shake to get another even layer of peppercorns. Place your tuna steak gently on top of your peppercorns on the other side, press down hard and sear for about 3 minutes to get a nice char on that side. Do the same to sear and coat all around your tuna steak. Take it out and let it rest for about 5 minutes.
  4. Make a nice sauce by mixing in a bowl some sesame oil, soy sauce, rice wine vinegar, brown sugar, paprika, and a little water if the taste is too strong for you.
