3. Pork Belly French Toast w/ Orange Maple Syrup!

- Pork Belly
- Two Oranges
- Whole Wheat Bread
- Crown Organic Maple Syrup
- Two Eggs
- McCormick Ground Cinnamon
- Organic Ground Nutmeg
- Butter
- Organic Pork Fat
- Aged White Wine Vinegar
- Fresh Bay Leaves
- Sea Salt
- McCormick Grounded Black Peppercorns
- Organic Chicken Stock
- McCormick Minced Garlic
Directions
- Preheat your oven to 180 degrees. Heat a stainless steel baking pan on medium high heat and add some pork fat. Season your pork belly with sea salt, fresh ground black pepper, and minced garlic.
- Sear your pork belly on both sides for about 6 minutes. With the pork skin up, deglaze the pan with white wine vinegar, scrape the brown bits from the pan but leave them in the pan. Pour in some chicken stock, add some fresh bay leaves, turn your heat down to simmer, simmer for 5 minutes.
- Transfer to the oven, bake for 2 1/2 hours at 180 degrees. Take out and set aside.
- Slice your second orange into circles, heat a pan on medium high heat and add some butter, sear your orange slice on both sides for about 5 minutes.
- Heat a small pot on low heat, squeeze in the juice from one of your oranges. Add your sauted orange slices, drizzle in some syrup. Whisk well and cook for about one minute then set aside.
- Break two eggs in a bowl and mix to make an egg wash. Season your egg wash with ground cinnamon and nutmeg. Slice the ends off of your wheat bread.
- Heat a pan on medium high heat and add lots of butter. Dredge your bread in your seasoned egg wash, shake off the excess egg wash, cook your bread on both sides for about 2 1/2 minutes, plate your french toast.
- Slice your pork belly, top your french toast with a pork belly slice, drizzle on some of your orange maple syrup, garnish with some of your sauted orange slices, enjoy!
