Spicy Beer Braised Pork Posole

A deliciously tender spicy beer braised pork shoulder in a cheesy flavorful broth.

  1. Preheat your oven to 350 degrees.
  2. Heat a large pot on medium high heat and add some oil. Season your pork shoulder with salt and smoked paprika. Sear your pork shoulder all around for about 10 minutes to give it nice color.
  3. Transfer your pot to the oven and bake 10 minutes per pound. Take your pork shoulder out of the pot and set aside to rest.
  4. Reheat your pot on medium high heat and add some oil and butter. Saute your chopped onion and whole jalapenos for about 6 minutes. Pour in some dark beer, add some drained hominy and minced garlic.
  5. Season with ground cumin and crushed red pepper seasoning. Pour in some beef stock, and turn your heat down to simmer. Mix well, add your pork shoulder to the pot and simmer for about 45 minutes. Break your pork apart with a fork, plate with some sliced red radish, mix cheese, and tortilla chips, enjoy! #recipesbyvance
